This year is the eight year during which České překlady partner with the Department of English and American Studies at Palacký University in Olomouc, and participate in the training for the students of English for Translation and Interpreting.
Second-year students experience a simulation of the world which many of them will enter after graduation, when they will work as freelance translators with various language and translation service providers.
The participants of the programme see how translation agencies work, how they communicate with vendors, how tasks are assigned and how feedback is provided.
Under this training programme, each of roughly 15 participants translates approximately 15 pages of texts, primarily between English and Czech.
Translators are also trained how to use Memsource – a translation management tool and a translation editor.
